VNR Project

In July 2019, Mauritius was among the 51 countries which were selected to present the first Voluntary National Review (VNR) at the High-Level Development Forum (HLPF) of the ECOSOC in New York, in line with its commitment to the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, commonly referred to as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Mauritius VNR project was headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade which also worked in close collaboration with the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI). Successfully delivering the annual reports of MCCI for years, Gloss was recommended by the latter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to collaborate on this prestigious report. You can view the project here.

This 140-page challenging report was one which had to be in conjunction with the Secretary General’s proposal of common reporting guidelines for voluntary national reviews at the HLPF. Prepared through a collaborative effort with the officers of the Ministry of External Affairs, Gloss had to navigate a strict timeline and various challenges which arose with the different stakeholders involved to complete the report, from design conceptualisation, layout, pictures and infographics – all while ensuring that quality was maintained the whole time.
Finally, the high-level national report was completed and presented by The Honourable Nandcoomar BODHA, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade, to the world. Gloss was honoured and praised by the ministry after this achievement.
